Ibn al-Jawzi (may Allah have mercy on him) said:
“O my dear brother, in this month, all
faults and mistakes are concealed, all souls and hearts are softened,
sins and burdens are forgiven, and Allah `azza wa jall relieves every
sad and troubled one.
He says to His angels,
‘O My Angels, look at those dry
tongues, how they become moist with My remembrance. Look at those hard
eyes, how they soften and weep out of fear of Me; and look at those
delicate feet planted firmly at the stations of prayer out of desire for
Me!’
O my dear brother, whenever you give food
to others in this month for the sake of Allah, the Lord of the heavens
and the earth, you shall be raised to high ranks in the lofty grounds of
Paradise, and you will be clothed with complete goodness and stripped
of all sin…”

أيها الأخوة الكرام إنه بمناسبة حلول شهر رمضان المبارك ينبغي للإنسان أن
يجدد التوبة بينه وبين ربه ينبغي له أن يقوى الصلة بينه وبين الله عز وجل
عسي أن يوفق لصيام رمضان إيماناً واحتساباً وقيامه إيمانا واحتساباً
فيغفر الله له ما تقدم من ذنبه ، فحينئذٍ يعود بعمر جديد وأعمال جديدة إنه
إذا غفر له ما تقدم من ذنبه وجد له من نفسه انشراح الصدر وطمأنينة القلب
والرضا التام والأنس والسرور لأنه والله لا أنس ولا سرور حقيقة إلا بطاعة
الله عز وجل ، أيها المسلمون استمعوا إلى قول الله عز وجل : (مَنْ عَمِلَ
صَالِحاً مِنْ ذَكَرٍ أَوْ أُنْثَى وَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ فَلَنُحْيِيَنَّهُ
حَيَاةً طَيِّبَةً وَلَنَجْزِيَنَّهُمْ أَجْرَهُمْ بِأَحْسَنِ مَا كَانُوا
يَعْمَلُونَ) إن الحياة الطيبة سرور القلب ونعيم النفس وليست والله كثرة
المال ولا كثرة الأولاد ولا سكني المساكن ولا فخامة المركوب ولكنها سرور
القلب ، حتى قال بعض السلف لو يعلم الملوك وأبناء الملوك ما نحن عليه
لجالدونا عليه بالسيوف الملوك أعلى من يكون تنعما في هذه الدنيا ولكنهم
ليسوا كالذين آمنوا وعملوا الصالحات في سرور القلب وانشراح الصدر وطمأنينة
النفس ، أيها الناس اغتنموا شهر رمضان بالأعمال الصالحة ، كم من إنسان في
المقابر يتمني أن يدرك رمضان لكنه لم يحصل له ، كم من إنسان شارف الوصول
إلى رمضان لكن حال بينه وبينه ريب المنون كم من إنسان أدرك أول الشهر ولم
يدرك آخره، كم من إنسان أدرك الشهر ولكن لم يدركه بعد ذلك، اغتنموا أيها
المسلمون فرص الدهر اغتنموا هذه المواسم العظيمة الذي اسأل الله لي ولكم
خير نصيب ،

Shaykh al-Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah [may Allaah have Mercy on him] said:
The
sole objective of the month of Ramadhaan is to rectify the hearts and
program them to do righteous deeds. For this reason, the doors of Jannah
are casted wide open and the vices to evil are restrained, thus the
doors of the Hell-fire are
bolted. The Shayaateen are fastened in chains, so that their corruption
is reduced and their plots are not accomplished, unlike other times of
the year. The way they trap the children of Aadam to fall into their
plots is by appealing to their desires, however here, the alleyways to
desires are constrained. If the paths are constrained, the Shayateen are
consequently repelled.
