يقول الإمام القرطبي رحمه الله في تفسيرها:
(( أي في الدين والحرمة لا في النسب، ولهذا قيل: أخوة الدين أثبت من أخوة النسب، فإن أخوة النسب تنقطع بمخالفة الدين، وأخوة الدين لا تنقطع بمخالفة النسب ))

"The believers are nothing else than brothers (in Islaamic religion). Quran 49:10:
The Islamic Brotherhood isn't based on economic interests, race, or colour.

is based on something infinitely superior ie rejection of falsehood and
acceptance of the truth as revealed by Allaah, the Most High.
Narrated 'Abdullah bin 'Umar: Allah's Apostle said, "A Muslim is a brother of another Muslim. So he should neither oppress him nor hand him over to an oppressor. And whoever fulfilled the needs of his brother, Allah will fulfill his needs." [Sahih Bukhari, Book 85, Number 83]
Narrated Anas bin Malik: Allah's Apostle said, "Do not HATE one another, and do not be JEALOUS of one another, and do not desert each other, and O, Allah's worshipers! BE BROTHERS.
Lo! It is not permissible for any Muslim to desert (not talk to) his
brother (Muslim) for more than three days." [Sahih Bukhari, Book 73,

قال فضيلة الشيخ العلَّامة محمد بن صالح العثيمين-رحمه الله-:
(...ومن قال: إن النصراني، أو اليهودي أخ لي فهو مثلهم، يكون مرتداً عن الإسلام؛ لأن هؤلاء ليسوا إخوة لنا.
الأُخوَّة تكون بين المؤمنين بعضهم لبعض {إِنَّمَا الْمُؤْمِنُونَ إِخْوَةٌ} [الحجرات: 10]، أما هؤلاء فليسوا إخوة لنا.
فإذا قال قائل: إنَّهم إخوة لنا في الإنسانية.
قلنا: لكن هؤلاء كفروا بالإنسانية، ولو كان عندهم إنسانية لكان أول من يعظمون خالقهم ـ عزّ وجل ـ، وربهم الذي بعث إليهم الرسل، وأنزل إليهم الكتب، وحتى رسلهم بشرت بمحمد-عليه الصلاة والسلام-، قال الله تعالى: {الَّذِينَ يَتَّبِعُونَ الرَّسُولَ النَّبِيَّ الأُمِّيَّ الَّذِي يَجِدُونَهُ مَكْتُوبًا عِنْدَهُمْ فِي التَّوْرَاةِ وَالإِنْجِيلِ يَأْمُرُهُمْ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَيَنْهَاهُمْ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ} [الأعراف: 157]...)أهـ[1].
