Shaikh Khaalid Abdur-Rahmaan Al-Misri
speaks about the meeting between Al-Allaamah Ahmad An-Najmi
(rahimahullaah) and the deviant Aa’idh Al-Qarni (may Allaah guide him)
Once during Hajj, whilst Shaikh Ahmad
An-Najmi (rahimahullaah) was at Mina, Aa’idh Al-Qarnee came along with
his students and entered. Aa’idh kissed the Shaikh’s hand and forehead
and praised him, saying: By Allaah Shaikh! We love you for the sake of
Allaah; you are from the scholars of Hadeeth and the Fuqahaa.’’ So after
praising the Shaikh, he sat down and said: O Shaikh we consider you an
Imaam, a Faqeeh and an Aalim; however it has been reported to me from
some of your students that you spoke against me. So the Shaikh said to
him: Who are you? He said: I am Aaidh Al-Qarni.’’ The Shaikh said: Yes,
you are the author of such and such book, and the owner of such and such
cassette. I heard your statement and in my view you are a Mubtadi. He
said; By Allaah O Shaikh! These were previous statements and I have
recanted. The Shaikh said: khalas! Good! Just as you manifested your
innovations, likewise manifest your repentance and recantation. If you
do so, we will commend you based on what you manifested just as we did
disparage you based on what you manifested….
