If they are in need of you ( & they dont have any other source of income ) then its wajib upon you to stay with them ( & help them).
But if they can do (manage) without you, rather they are just greedy or deviated or loving the dunyaa & ignorant & they dont know the value of ILM, then....
(( There is no obedience to any created being in disobedience to the Creator ))

Emotional attachment :
Its also noteworthy to take into account their love & affection. The shykh mentioned that if the mother keeps crying to the extent that her eye sight might weaken, or her intellect may be harmed etc... Then its NOT permissible to leave them.
