3 fundamentals of the Salafi Da'wah -

Excerpt from The Salafi Methodology by Dr. Muhammad ibn 'Umar Bazmool:

The Salafi methodology stands upon three fundamental principles:

1. The First: Sincerely directing all worship to Allaah alone.
2. The Second: Holding fast to the Jama'ah, and hearing and obeying [the Muslim Rulers].
3. The Third: Being extremely cautious of innovation (bid'ah) and the people of religious innovation.

From the evidences that provide textual support for these fundamental principles is the following
:

Al-'Irbaad Ibn Saariyah, radiAllaahu 'anhu, said, "The Messenger of Allaah, sallAllaahu 'alayhi wa sallam, admonished us one day after the early morning prayer. The admonition was heartfelt and eloquent and caused the eyes to shed tears and the hearts to tremble. A man from amongst us said, 'Certainly, it is as if this is a farewell admonition, so with what do you advise us, O Messenger of Allaah, sallAllaahu 'alayhi wa salam,? He replied, 'I advise you to fear Allaah and to listen and obey those in authority over you even if it were an Abyssinian slave. Indeed, whoever from amongst you lives long will witness much differing. And beware of newly invented matters for surely they are misguidance. Whoever from amongst you lives to witness this, then cling to my Sunnah and the way of the rightly guided Khulafaa [Caliphs] who will come after me and grab hold of it with your molar teeth.'"

Suhayl Ibn Abi Saalih said upon the authority of his father who narrated from Aboo Hurayrah, radiAllaahu 'anhu, that the Messenger of Allaah, sallAllaahu 'alayhi wa salam, said "Indeed, Allaah loves for you three things and despises you for three things. He loves for you that you worship Him alone and that you do not associate any partners with Him; that you hold on to the rope of Allaah altogether; and that you advise those who have been placed in authority over you. Allaah despises for you gossip, the wasting of wealth, and incessant questioning." [Muslim, Ahmad]

These three principles have been explicitly mentioned in the narration of Zayd ibn Thaabit, radiAllaahu 'anhu, who said, "I heard the Messenger of Allaah, sallAllaahu 'alayhi wa salam, say, 'Allaah will brighten the face of the one who hears from us a hadeeth (narration), memorizes it and then coveys it to others. Perhaps, the one who conveys it does not comprehend it, and perhaps the one carrying fiqh conveys it to one who has more understanding than himself. There are three characteristics which when present the heart of a Muslim will never harbor any vindictive feelings; Sincerely performing an action for Allaah, advising  those who have been places in authority over you and holding fast to the Jama'ah. Indeed their call protects all those behind them."

These three characteristics encompass everything that the people's Religion and their worldly affairs are built upon. Shaykhul-Islaam Muhammad Ibn 'Abdul-Wahhaab (d.1206H) said, "There is no deficiency in a person's Religion or worldly affairs except due to a discrepancy in these three things or some of them." Salafiyyah Is Founded On Three Fundamental Principles

Shaikh Muhammad Baazmool (may Allaah preserve him) stated:
Salafiyyah is founded upon three fundamental principles;

The First Fundamental Principle: (To carry out) acts of worship sincerely for the sake of Allaah (Glorified Be He).

The Second Fundamental Principle: Adhering to the Jamaa’ah; listening to the (Muslim Rulers) and obeying (them in that which is good).

The Third Fundamental Principle: Caution against Bidah and the Innovators. These three fundamental principles are established by way of evidence in the narration of Irbaad Ibn Saariyah (radiyallaahu-anhu) who said:
”The Messenger of Allaah (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wsallam) gave us an admonition that made our hearts fearful and our eyes tearful. We said, “O Messenger of Allaah, it is as if this were a farewell sermon, so advise us.”He said, “I enjoin you to have Taqwa of Allaah and that you listen and obey, even if an Abyssinian slave is place in charge over your affairs; for indeed he who lives long among you will see many differences. Beware of newly invented matters (in the religion), for indeed it is misguidance. So whoever among you reaches that then upon him is (to follow) my Sunnah and the Sunnah of the rightly guided khulafaa and bite on to it with your molar teeth.” [1]

Suhail Ibn Abee Saalih narrated from his father, who narrated from Abu Hurairah (radiyallaahu-anhu) that the Messenger of Allaah (sallal-laahu-alayhi-wasallam said: Verily Allaah loves three things for you and he hates three things for you. He loves that you worship Him alone and that you do not join anyone else in your worship of him and that you do not worship other than him; He loves that you hold tight altogether to the rope of Allaah and that you do not be divided; and that you advice the one placed in charge over your affairs. And Allaah hates for you Qeel Wa Qaal (he said and she said spreading rumours); He hates for you the wasting of wealth and He hates for you excessive questioning (i.e. questioning devoid of benefit). [2]
These three affairs (i.e. Tawheed; obedience to the rulers and caution against bidah and the innovators) combine that which establishes the religious and worldly affairs of the people. Shaikhul Islaam Muhammad Ibn Abdul Wahhaab (rahimahullaah said: Defects have not occurred in the religion of the people and their worldly affairs, except as a result of defects in these three affairs or in some of them. [3]

So these are the foundations of the Straight Path:

    Sincerity in worship,
    Following the Messenger,
Acting in accordance with what the Messengers came with, and
Caution against innovations and those who practice them.

and these are the foundations of al-Salafiyyah.

Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) has also mentioned these principles in the hadeeth of Abu Najeeh al-‘Irbaad ibn Saariyah, who said:

One day after the morning prayer, Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) delivered a moving reminder and admonishment to us which caused the eyes to shed tears and the hearts to quiver. So one man said, “This is a farewell reminder, so what do you leave for us to do, O Messenger of Allah?” He replied, “I advise you to have taqwa of Allah, and to hear and obey the Muslim ruler even if he were to be an Ethiopian slave. For any of you who lives after me will see much differing. And beware of the newly invented matters, for they are misguidance. So whoever of you lives to see that, then it is incumbent upon him to hold to my sunnah and the sunnah of the rightly-guided khulafaa’. Hold onto it with your molar teeth.

So his statement (ﷺ), “I advise you to have taqwa of Allah” encompasses both 1) sincerity of worship towards Allah and 2) following the Messenger. For without these two things, there is no way for the slave to live with taqwa towards Allah.
