العلم لا يطلب سرا العلم علانية

ما يطلب سرا في جلسات سرية أو يطلب في استراحات أو في أمكنة خفية، وإنما يطلب العلم علانية ويستفيد منه الحاضرون من العوام وغيرهم، فالعلم يعلن ولا يسر، لأن الله أنزله للناس، ولم ينزله لطائفة خاصة، فلابد من أن يكون طلب العلم علانية في المساجد أو يكون علانية في المدارس النظامية، فهذه أصول طلب العلم .

ILM is not sought in secret (gatherings) or hidden places, rather its (taught) OPENLY in public so that the audience from the laymen also benefit. 'Ilm is to be publicised not hidden (in private) because Allah descended it for the people in common & not for a particular group. So its incumbent that seeking knowledge should be openly in public - either in masaajid or in schools / institutions, etc. These are the fundamentals of seeking knowledge.
